A Novel Way to Prevent Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infection

Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTI) cause more than 10 million infections and 240,000 deaths annually in the world. We are developing a medical device for preventing CAUTI, which connects to typical urinary catheters and prevents the entry of the causative bacteria into the body.
Our device will save many lives will be lost due to CAUTI allover the world.

[Features of the device]
  • Prevents for main infection routes of CAUTI (intraluminal/extraluminal routes)
  • No risk of Antimicrobial Resistance Bacteria
  • Works with typical urinary catheters and urine collection bags in a conventional procedure

  • Feb. 2020,  Our "CAUTI Preventing Device" project has been selected as BIRAC BIG (Biotechnology Ignition Grant).
